Junior Girl Scouts to make Pasadena library a more comfortable place as part of their Bronze Award project

PASADENA, Texas (July 20, 2010) – Troop #8365 of Pasadena will culminate earning their Bronze Award this Friday, July 23. Members of the Junior Girl Scout troop will make the Pasadena library a more comfortable place by presenting colorful, hand-made chair pillows for visitors to enjoy. The group will also host Story Time for younger children as part of their project.

The Bronze Award requires a Junior Girl Scout to learn the leadership and planning skills necessary to follow through on a project that makes a positive impact on her community. Working towards this award demonstrates her commitment to helping others, improving her community and the world and becoming the best she can be. A Junior Girl Scout is in fourth or fifth grade, age 9-11.

To earn the Bronze Award, Juniors must earn two badges related to the Bronze Award, complete one Girl Scout Sign, earn the Junior Aide Award and two related badges and carry out a 15-hour service project.

WHAT: Troop #8365 completes their Bronze Award by giving back to their community, learning value of service.
