Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council Welcomes Jeremy Sochol to Board of Directors
HOUSTON (June 1, 2010) – Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council welcomes Jeremy Sochol, director, Corporate Human Resources, Waste Management, Inc., as a member-at-large of the Council’s board of directors, effective June 1. Sochol assumes his role as the Council prepares to host the 52nd National Convention of Girl Scouts of the USA in November 2011, a celebration that is also expected to launch the 100th anniversary celebration of Girl Scouting in the United States.
Sochol has spent the past 18 years as an accomplished HR professional working in a variety of industries and leadership roles. His depth of knowledge and experience leading complex and multi-faceted HR initiatives and expertise in HR services and operations has equipped him with the skills that will help provide strategic guidance and leadership to one of the largest Girl Scout councils in the country, with more than 72,000 girls served and 17,000 adult volunteers across 26 southeast Texas counties.
Sochol holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Maryland—Baltimore County along with a Master’s in Industrial Organization Psychology, which he obtained at the University of New Haven.
