Girl Scouts Host City-Wide Blood Drive to Help Replenish Supply after Ike

To help replenish the blood supply after Hurricane Ike, the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council (GSSJC) is hosting a city-wide blood drive for the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center on Friday, October 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at its administrative building, located at 3110 Southwest Freeway. Emily created four Ancient Greek and Rome informational days. Her sessions were held at the Bellaire City Library. The first day was an art and architecture day. Students learned about Greek pottery. The second day was Greek Mythology day. The third day was all about the Latin Language.

GSUSA 2008 National Convention

The 51st Convention of the National Council of Girl Scouts of the USA will be held October 30 through November 2, 2008 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  National conventions are held every 3 years for the purpose of determining the general lines of policy of the Girl Scout Movement and the Girl Scout program.  GSSJC is sending 44 delegates to the convention.
