Camp Whispering Pines

Photograph of troop in archery activityCamp Whispering Pines, located in Garrison, Texas, is a 93-acre property that offers the perfect balance of wooded areas, winding trails and an wide-open lake. This camp is perfect for camping primitive style or in a cabin or dormitory.

Campers may participate in a variety of camp activities including swimming, canoeing, rope assisted hill climbing (not a ROPES course) and hiking. Other activities that campers may participate in are outdoor cooking, creating nature crafts, learning about conservation and honing their camping skills.

Camp Whispering Pines’ location allows campers to take advantage of the State Railroad and Museum, the Texas Forest Association Museum, the Old Stone Fort at Stephen F. Austin University, the Texas Oil Museum, and the Kilgore Rangerette Museum.
